Cumberland 24-Hour Release Feed Status
The official Cumberland County Incarcerated Person Services page links to a tool described as a way to search and view information about a person incarcerated at Cumberland County Jail. It does not advertise a rolling 24-hour release list, recent-releases tab, released-person archive, update schedule, or period of post-release visibility. The mandatory source sweep found no other official county feed.
The county-linked BlueHorse endpoint also presented an expired TLS certificate during the July 29, 2026 research check. That dated technical issue says nothing about any named person's custody. It also does not turn the current-person tool into a release archive. Start with the official county gateway, but resolve an absence through agency and record channels.
Check Cumberland Same-Day Releases
A same-day check should build an event chain. First establish whether the person remains visible in county custody. Then seek a dated release, transfer, or court event. The Cumberland County released-inmate search path provides the broader approach when the last custodian is uncertain.
- Open the official county gateway and follow the current-person lookup. Save the time of the check.
- Call Cumberland County Jail Admissions/Bail at 856-453-4892 or 856-453-4894. Ask whether staff can confirm the public fact that release processing finished.
- Search New Jersey VINE for a custody change. A release or transfer alert is a lead and should be corroborated.
- Review the Cumberland criminal case in PROMIS/Gavel for a dismissal, sentence, bail action, or release order.
- Submit a focused OPRA request for the release sheet and custody movement record, including actual date, time, type, and destination.
- If the event may be a transfer, search NJDOC, BOP, or ICE according to the suspected receiving agency.
Record what each source actually proves. “Not visible at 3 p.m.” is different from “Admissions confirmed release processing,” and both are different from a county record showing an actual date, time, and destination. This wording keeps a move to state or federal custody from being reported as community release.

A concise request should identify the person, date of birth if known, and booking date range. Ask for the booking/release record, release authorization or release sheet, and custody movement/disposition record. Electronic delivery may limit copy costs.
The release type needs careful wording. Bail or recognizance ends an immediate county hold only after processing and any other warrants. Time served or sentence completion reflects satisfaction of the custodial term. A court-ordered release supplies legal authority but may precede physical departure. Transfer and detainer pickup change custodians. They do not establish that the person entered the community. If the county uses a code that is unclear, ask for the record's own definition rather than assigning a familiar label.
The actual time matters in a 24-hour inquiry. An order dated yesterday and an exit completed today can belong to different reporting windows. Preserve both when available. Also ask for the destination field because a same-day county departure followed by state admission is best described as a transfer from Cumberland County Jail to NJDOC.
When Cumberland Bail Clears Release
Cumberland's bail page documents the local sequence. Staff check warrants, prepare recognizance paperwork, collect exact payment and fees, and issue a receipt. Only then does the person's name go to the Issue officer “for release.” The county warns that waiting time varies. A bail receipt therefore confirms payment, not the physical exit time.

The live gateway addresses present county-jail visibility. A release record addresses a past custody event. A person can vanish from the county interface because of true release, transfer to NJDOC, another county, federal authorities, or ICE where lawful, as well as court movement or an update delay. The correct statement names the system left and the next known status.

MyCumberland Release Request Role
MyCumberland is a real county app, but it is not an inmate lookup, recent-release, or mugshot app. Its documented role is submitting and tracking county service and public-records requests. That distinction matters because no official sheriff or corrections mobile app with same-day release data was found.
A phone user can use the MyCumberland iOS listing or MyCumberland Android listing as a mobile request channel. Describe the desired release sheet and movement record with a narrow booking date range. Do not rely on third-party “recent arrest” pages, which can preserve stale booking details and confuse arrest with release.
Request Cumberland Same-Day Records
The county NextRequest portal is the direct online route. Paper requests may also be mailed, faxed to 856-453-2168, or delivered to the County Administration Building at 164 W. Broad Street, Bridgeton. The listed weekday counter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Requests received by mail, fax, or in person are entered into the portal.
Ask for: “The booking/release record, release authorization or release sheet, and custody movement/disposition record for [name and date of birth if known] for the booking on or about [date], including actual release date and time, release type or disposition, and destination agency if transferred.” This asks for existing material rather than requiring the custodian to answer an open-ended question.
Ordinary copy fees on the 2026 form are $0.05 per letter page and $0.07 per legal page. General requests ordinarily receive a response within seven business days, subject to current exceptions and extensions. An OPRA response may not arrive within the same-day window, but it can produce the agency record needed to settle the question.
New Jersey's Open Public Records Act is N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. Access remains subject to exemptions, privacy protections, other statutes, executive orders, court rules, and privileges. If one part is protected, ask the custodian to redact that part and release the rest. If the county says the requested record no longer exists, ask which retention schedule or lawful disposition applies instead of assuming web removal means record destruction.
VINE offers a faster notification lead while the formal request is pending. Search one person through VINELink, confirm the reporting facility, and distinguish a release alert from a transfer or out-to-court event. A no-result has several possible causes and cannot prove release. If the alert reports a change, preserve its event time and compare it with the county release sheet.
Cumberland 72-Hour Release Window
If the believed event spans several days, use the Cumberland County 72-Hour Releases workflow. It applies a defined three-day date range and gives more weight to court chronology, VINE alerts, and cross-system transfers. Cumberland County does not publish that wider feed either, but the wider request window can catch a weekend or uncertain date.
For a same-day event, keep timestamps for every check. A vendor outage today does not establish yesterday's status, and a court order today may precede the jail's completed processing. The actual release sheet remains the most direct county record.
