Bayside State Prison Release Outcomes
Bayside State Prison is an NJDOC institution in Leesburg. Its population and records belong to the state system even though the prison is physically in Cumberland County. A person can leave the institution for the community on parole, complete the maximum term, enter a Residential Community Release Program, transfer to South Woods or another prison, or move to a different lawful custodian. The physical exit alone does not identify which event occurred.

- Read incarceration history. Identify the most recent custody period and any later admission after an out-of-custody date.
- Use Date Out-of-Custody. This is NJDOC’s official release field for the custody period.

Bayside and Southern State Consolidation
Cumberland County once had three nearby NJDOC prisons. Southern State Correctional Facility fully closed on July 1, 2022, while Bayside and South Woods continued to operate. Bayside Release Search Limits
NJDOC has not published a promise that every fully discharged record will remain in its public search for a fixed period. A missing result can stem from spelling, aliases, an identifier mismatch, system scope, technical access, or record availability. It does not prove release. Search again with the SBI number when possible, review documented aliases, and use NJDOC records channels for unresolved state history.
